Hi there!
We are Josh & Ellie Munn, the husband & wife team that is J Munn Media.
The start of our company goes way back…like, WAY way back. To tiny Josh begging his dad to let him use the camcorder to film the family shenanigans! Though growing up Josh planned to become an astronaut or a fighter pilot (thank you “Apollo 13” & “Top Gun”), he always kept his interest for videography & film. In fact, when he moved to Branson, Missouri from Kansas to work backstage at Sight & Sound Theatres, he had opportunities to make a short web series with the actors, film behind-the-scenes footage for a friend’s short film, and work on other small projects from time to time.
We actually met at Sight & Sound when Ellie moved from North Carolina to be a performer in 2020. Ellie was a little actress from as soon as she could walk, but also loved creating short videos with her siblings. She had an eye for editing, composition, and storytelling even from a young age which expanded in college when she took a photography class and LOVED it! She also has a very entrepreneurial dad who taught her web design (ta-dah!) and encouraged her to think outside the box.
Throughout our dating, we loved hiking and taking photos & video together (well, Ellie usually modeled for Josh…), going on adventures, laughing, dancing, playing Ultimate Frisbee with our friends, and Josh taught Ellie how to play (and love) Breath of the Wild on his Switch (*coughcough* nerd alert!)
In October 2023, our lives changed in a multitude of ways! Josh returned from an epic solo trip out west and while he was away, both of us realized that we didn’t want to spend the rest of our lives without each other. A few days after returning, Josh shot his first wedding as a primary shooter (he’d shot a few other weddings with other videographers) and Ellie came along as second shooter, plus one, and all-around-awesome bag carrier. After the wedding day was over and we rested our sore feet in the car, Josh realized two things: 1) that he loved shooting weddings and 2) he was ready to tell the girl next to him how he really felt. We drove up to our favorite star-gazing spot in Branson, and while dancing in the headlights to Ben Rector, Josh…pre-proposed! Don’t worry, the actual proposal was also super awesome. ;)
2024 was a wild ride filled with wedding planning, building a business, becoming “The Munns” in June, and getting to work with some AMAZING couples! And that’s honestly why we love doing what we do. We have very fresh memories of our wedding day, what it took to get there, and how much we absolutely LOVED every second of it!!
For most of you, this is the biggest day of your life up until this point - the culmination of so many little moments that make you a couple, and we are so honored to be invited into your life for THAT moment to help capture the joy, love, and celebration of your big day. For us, each wedding is a beautiful reminder of what really matters. And getting to help make YOUR day the best day ever? A day that you will never forget? That makes it all worth it.
